Testimonials

These are the words of former clients who have given consent for them to be used anonymously. Please note that therapy is a very personal thing and the most important element is the relationship you build with your therapist – I will be the right therapist for some people and not the best choice for others.

“thank you for everything you have helped me with … and for creating such a supportive and friendly place for me to work through things, particularly as I've never done anything like this before!”

“I started working with Allison during a really tough period in my life when I became unwell and was diagnosed with a chronic illness. At the time I was really struggling with low self-esteem, fatigue and had lost my sense of hope for the future. I had tried therapy/counselling in the past and although sometimes the things I learnt were helpful, I never felt like I connected with the therapist. I knew this was important so I was really pleased when I started working with Allison and things changed. Allison has a very calm and caring approach which made me feel comfortable straight away, and I felt she genuinely cares about my life and my progress. I found myself not only wanting to share the challenges but celebrate the successes too. Through the really difficult times, when things weren't going well, Allison really helped me to find my spark and cling on to the hope that things can get better. I have a memory of attending a session with Allison, feeling really worried about the evening ahead and how I would cope, 60 minutes later I left feeling much lighter and hopeful. I am now managing without sessions, using the tools which I have learnt from Allison to keep myself well and I can honestly say I am thriving. However if the time came again where I felt like I needed extra support, I wouldn't hesitate to reach back out to Allison.”
